Biography

Naureen N. Choudhury has practiced family law in various settings since she graduated from Seton Hall University School of Law in 2008. Since then she has litigated countless divorces, custody disputes, child support and parentage matters, orders of protection, and served as a Guardian Ad Litem (“GAL”) in family law cases. Prior to law school, Ms. Choudhury attended DePaul University, majoring in Political Science and Philosophy.

Ms. Choudhury’s family came to the US when she was six years old and growing up as an immigrant in the US instilled in her the drive to succeed and a career-long commitment to justice. In college, she interned with the City of Chicago’s Department of Business Affairs and Consumer Protection. During law school, she earned a public interest fellowship to fund her work as a student attorney with the trial and appellate divisions of the Office of the Public Defender and with District Counsel 37, the largest municipal labor union in New York City. Ms.Choudhury also won accolades for her legal writing abilities, garnering the Best Brief award in Appellate Advocacy.

After law school, Ms. Choudhury was a judicial law clerk in family court and went on to work as a litigation associate at a family law firm. After acquiring expertise as an associate attorney, she opened her own solo family law practice in Chicago, dedicated to advocating for middle income clients by offering flat fee, limited scope, and unbundled representation. Her solo firm was selected by the Chicago Bar Foundation’s then fledgling Justice Entrepreneurs Project (“JEP”) for her innovative approach to legal services delivery. Her commitment to public service led her back to public interest work as a staff attorney at one of Chicago’s most recognized legal aid organizations, where she represented survivors of domestic violence in all areas of family law in courts all over Cook County. There she was selected to run their suburban satellite office as its sole litigator. From there, Ms. Choudhury went on to manage the Courts Department of the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin, liaising with other attorneys, judges and court staff inside the Daley Center. Prior to joining Quackenbush Legal, she was a staff attorney at another well-known Chicago legal aid organization, advising and implementing pilot programs to assist Cook County’s most vulnerable populations during the ever-changing legal landscape of the pandemic. Ms. Choudhury also brings her personal experience as a divorced, single co-parent of two to her representation of clients navigating the legal system.
